Q. What is "Astigmatism"?

Astigmatism is caused by an irregular curve in the cornea or lens resulting in distorted and blurred vision. As with most forms of visual impairment, astigmatism can be corrected by wearing glasses or contact lenses. Contact lenses for the correction of astigmatism are commonly referred to as toric contact lenses.
